Italian Dynamo Meetup

First Italian Dynamo Meetup

The Italian Dynamo Meetup event was held on Friday July 21st in the prestigious venue of LUISS ENLABS in Via Marsala in Rome. During the day, national and international guests were introduced, who presented their operational workflow on corporate design and quality control orders.

  • BIMon – Alberto Tono (Computational BIM Specialist) presented how Dynamo has helped to improve workflows and solve many issues in particular for the design of the Etlik Integrated Health Campus in Ankara.
  • Bimorph – Thomas Mahon (CEO) in Skype connection from London, presented the development of scripts that can automate workflows on BIM Revit software.
  • Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel – Claudio Vittori Antisari (BIM Manager) and Chiara Rizzarda (Deputy BIM Manager) have presented 10 of their most important Dynamo scripts that they use every day for their national and international design.
  • Lombardini 22 – Manuel Andrè Bottiglieri (BIM Specialist) and Viola Cambiè (Computational Designer) presented their modeling and control tools, also supported by Grasshopper software.
Italian Dynamo Meetup

"Coding, Computational Design, Dynamo, Python, C, VB, Visual Programming are all terms that are entering an important part of our industry supporting IT expansion in the construction world. “Work smarter not harder," Michael Kilkelly suggests "customize your tools to work the way you work" and "use macros to automate repetitive tasks." According to Archsmarter, there are 5 reasons why architects should learn to program:

Coding helps you master your tools
Coding helps you work lazy
Coding helps you solve problems
Coding help you think algorithmically
Coding is actually fun

The historical moment in which the computational design is in our country is the same as the BIM 6 or 7 years ago. "- Riccardo Pagani, Why is the Dynamo Meetup in Italy important

Italian Dynamo Meetup entry

React has chosen to support the organization of the Italian Dynamo Meetup and to contribute to the creation of content by presenting some of the works where computational design was applied, especially using Dynamo software.

Prior to a long series of initiatives, it aims to create a nationwide network of professionals specializing in this field who want to contribute to the innovation of our country. We believe it is crucial for companies to bring innovation to the Italian market and to invest in young people, experimentation and research.

Today, React proposes the use of computational design not only experimental during the design phase on Italian and foreign orders, but often the reaction of the customer is skepticism, the same skepticism that was demonstrated towards BIM method a few years ago. Dynamo is in fact considered a “software for programmers” and the legacy for which “architects will never program” is still strong.

The reason why it is crucial to bring innovation in our industry is to make the Italian market competitive internationally. Young professionals and companies must be the bearers of this innovation and contribute to innovation in the construction sector. Participating in this kind of event, keeping you up-to-date and up-to-date on new technologies, is the best way to be an active part of the ongoing transformation.

If you are interested in Revit, Dynamo, Design Computational or BIM in general, join our team today and attend the next meeting.
