Al Suwaiq Hospital
The Ministry of Health of Oman promoted the construction of five hospitals in five cities, with a project called New General Hospital.
The health system of the Sultanate decided to modernize its structures, in order to meet the needs of the growing population and to continue the results obtained in the medical field in the last forty years. The result was a project for five new hospitals located in the cities of Khasab, Al Najat, Samail, Al Falah and Al Suwaiq, signed by ME Studio in collaboration with the Italian company Altieri. Among the various complexes to be built, the Al Suwaiq center is the most extensive in terms of services offered. With about 300 beds and 53 outpatient clinics, the hospital will develop on five floors above ground, will be divided into different specialized departments and will have 12 satellite buildings supporting the main body.
BIMon, the REACT partner company, took care of supporting the architectural and MEP design of the Al Suwaiq hospital through the use of BIM.
The main activity was the realization, according to the indications of the Studio Altieri, of the BIM models referring to the individual disciplines of the project. In this way it was possible to undertake the coordination activity, extrapolating the technical drawings necessary for the project documentation and constantly monitoring the progress of the works. BIM has allowed us to increase the information and graphic level of the various components and has allowed us to manage a huge amount of information in a very short time, minimizing the possibility of errors and avoiding design inconsistencies.
