The project for the new Naples-Cancello section is an important step for the construction of the new Naples-Bari AV/AC, an acceleration and simplification path for the construction of urgent infrastructures for our country.

The project, commissioned by Italferr S.p.A., to be completed by 2022, is the first segment of the Naples-Bari route, a new railway infrastructure included in the TEN-T Scandinavia-Mediterranean railway corridor. The new railway track, over 15 km, will cross the towns of Casoria, Casalnuovo, Afragola and Acerra with a new double track line with a speed of 130 km/h, three new stops, a new station and a new Computerized Central Equipment. The new line will increase the railway network in the territory north of Naples, making easier the exchange with regional services. The transfers from Bari to Naples and Rome will also be facilitated by the new Naples-Afragola AV station, inaugurated in June 2017.

BIMon, the REACT’ partner, has joined the ordinary Consortium of Competitors, consisting of Impresa Pizzarotti & C. S.p.A., Itinera SpA, Mattioda Pierino & Figli S.p.A. and Trevi S.p.A. for BIM design support during the tender phase.

Ranked in second place for the tender for the executive design and execution of the work on the Naples-Cancello variant, the Consortium of Competitors used a BIM model to support the design activity. The decision to adopt the BIM methodology already during the tender phase has allowed us, through BIM Management activity, to optimize the proposed improvement solutions and to verify the actual savings in terms of costs and implementation times. BIMon used the BIM for 4D and 5D simulations of construction phases, extraction of quantities for estimating calculations, drafting of technical drawings and photorealistic images, videos and presentations.
