Qatar has promoted a development program for the modernization of the country’s mobility and infrastructure system to be completed by 2030.

The Red Line North Underground in Doha is one of the strategic interventions envisaged within the “Qatar National Vision 2030” for the construction of a new infrastructure network serving the city. The purpose of the underground line will be to connect the northern part of Doha with the existing underground network, connecting the Msheireb station in the city center with that of Al Kohr to the north, through a 13 km long route. The project involves the construction of seven new underground stations serving the entire route and the creation of two new parallel tunnels, with an internal diameter of approximately 6 m each.

REACT participated in the Red Line North Underground project through BIM’s design and coordination support activities.

The team supported the planners responsible for the design of hydraulic systems for two underground stations. In this way, through the BIM, it was possible to verify interferences or overlaps already from the initial phases of the project, constantly ensuring compliance with regulatory and graphic standards and the continuous updating of the documents. For the project, “clash free” models were also requested: through the clash detection activity, in fact, we managed to keep the critical aspects of the project under control, keeping a detailed report of the problems and ensuring the correspondence between the project and the work carried out.
